Efektivitas Mandi Dengan Air Hangat Dalam Upaya Mengatasi Defisit Perawatan Diri Pada Pasien Stroke
Abstract
Stroke is a medical condition that occurs due to a disruption in blood flow to the brain, which can be caused by a blockage (ischemic) or bleeding (hemorrhagic). Most stroke patients experience deficits in self-care. Self-care includes all actions individuals take to maintain their health, such as dressing, maintaining personal hygiene, and bathing. The inability to meet these needs can lead to more serious health problems, especially in patients with medical conditions like stroke. Warm water bathing therapy can be used as an alternative for self-care in stroke patients, as it can help prevent hypothermia and effectively remove dirt from the skin. This study employed a quantitative method with a case study approach based on intervention. The number of subjects in this study was 20 stroke patients. The results showed an improvement in self-care among stroke patients after the nursing intervention of warm water bathing was carried out twice a day. A total of 90% of patients showed the ability to bathe after the intervention, although not yet completely independently. It is recommended that family members continue to accompany and assist the patient in fulfilling their self-care needs and provide support in performing self-care through warm water bathing.
