Abstract
Children with Special Needs are children who require special care due to growth or developmental disorders and abnormalities. For children with special needs, relational connections built on feelings of love and encouragement are a form of spiritual support that is essential for helping them feel loved and eventually accept themselves. Spiritual needs in children with special needs include dimensions of faith, hope, love, and interpersonal relationships. These children often experience a sense of loss, social isolation, and a lack of emotional support. Providing spiritually-based interventions can help them cope with psychological stress, improve their quality of life, and foster a sense of community within their social environment. The purpose of providing nursing interventions to children with special needs is to fulfill their spiritual needs through the provision of spiritual support. This study used a descriptive method with an intervention-based case study approach. The number of subjects in this study was 18, with results showing an improvement in the spiritual status of children with special needs. Evaluation indicates that the problem of spiritual distress in children with special needs can be effectively addressed through spiritual support as a non-pharmacological intervention to enhance their spiritual well-being. It can be concluded that the implementation of nursing interventions to meet the spiritual needs of clients was successfully carried out. It is recommended that the caretakers at the orphanage continue to provide support—both spiritual and other forms of support—according to the characteristics and needs of each child.
