This study aims to analyze the solid medical waste management system at 'Aisyiyah Hospital, Pariaman City based on input, process, and output components according to Minister of Health Regulation No. 7 of 2019. The method used is descriptive qualitative with source triangulation techniques. Methods: This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document reviews. Triangulation techniques were used for data validation, with eight informants. Results: The results of the study indicate that solid medical waste management has been carried out starting from sorting, containerization, transportation, storage, to destruction through a third party. Infrastructure, use of PPE, and separation of medical and non-medical waste have met standards. However, deficiencies were still found in policy documentation and officer training. Conclusion: Aisyiyah Pariaman Hospital has implemented solid medical waste management in accordance with regulations, but requires strengthening of administrative aspects and improving human resource competency.
Silvia Nengcy Flourina Oryza M Astrina Aulia Mifathurrahmi Fitri Marhadi Marhadi Darwel Darwel Dona Fatika Sari ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2026-01-01 2026-01-01 16 2 64 73 10.32695/jkt.v16i2.705 Pengaruh Butterfly Hug Terhadap Tingkat Kecemasan Lansia Di Panti Werdha https://www.jurnalpoltekkesmaluku.com/index.php/JKT/article/view/748
Elderly residents in nursing homes are vulnerable to experiencing anxiety that reduces their quality of life. Butterfly Hug was chosen as a non-pharmacological intervention to reduce that anxiety. This study aims to test the effectiveness of Butterfly Hug on the elderly at Panti Werdha Marfati. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. A sample of 30 elderly individuals at Panti Werdha Marfati was selected through purposive sampling according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The measurement of anxiety levels was conducted using the Geriatric Anxiety Scale (GAS) questionnaire before and after the Butterfly Hug intervention. The intervention was given for 30 minutes, followed by a re-measurement after 3 days. Data were analyzed using the Paired Sample T Test to determine the effect of the Butterfly Hug on elderly anxiety. Research Results: The results of the Paired Sample T Test showed a significant decrease in anxiety scores from an average of 42.60 to 25.03 with a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). The Butterfly Hug intervention proved effective in reducing anxiety levels among the elderly at Panti Werdha Marfati, as evidenced by a significant decrease in anxiety scores after the therapy was administered. It is recommended that the Butterfly Hug be used as a routine non-pharmacological method in the elderly care program at the nursing home to enhance psychological well-being. Further research with a control group design to make it stronger and with a larger sample size.
Beti Haerani Nurlaela Isnaini Lilis Komariah Imas Yoyoh Muhammad Amrullah ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2025-12-31 2025-12-31 16 2 74 80 10.32695/jkt.v16i2.748 The Effect of COACHMAN Approach on Systolic and Diastolic Blood Pressure among Hypertensive Patients in Masohi Public Health Center Area https://www.jurnalpoltekkesmaluku.com/index.php/JKT/article/view/715
ABSTRACT

Background: Blood pressure control is the main goal of hypertension management. However, many patients fail to achieve optimal levels due to poor adherence and lack of monitoring. This study analyzed the effect of COACHMAN (Community and Tech-Based Approach for Hypertension Self-Management) on systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Methods: A quasi-experimental pre–post test control group design was used with 30 hypertensive patients (15 intervention, 15 control). Blood pressure was measured before and after the intervention. Results: In the intervention group, 80% achieved normal systolic blood pressure post-intervention, compared to none before. Diastolic blood pressure improved to 100% normal after COACHMAN. In the control group, no significant changes were observed in either systolic or diastolic values. Conclusion: COACHMAN is effective in reducing systolic and diastolic blood pressure, highlighting its role in primary health care interventions.

Keywords: hypertension, COACHMAN, systolic, diastolic
Usman Barus Ohorella Irhamdi Ahmad Abuzar Wakano ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2025-12-31 2025-12-31 16 2 89 94 10.32695/jkt.v16i2.715 Gambaran Pengetahuan Dan Sikap Ibu Tentang Kesiapan Toilet Training Pada Balita Di WIlayah Kerja Puskesmas Belakang Soya Kecamatan Sirimau Kota Ambon https://www.jurnalpoltekkesmaluku.com/index.php/JKT/article/view/730
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of VR-based motor control training on serum BDNF levels and upper extremity motor function in stroke patients. A quasi-experimental two-group pretest–posttest design was conducted with 30 stroke patients recruited through purposive sampling, divided equally into VR and control groups. The VR intervention, delivered using Oculus Quest 2, consisted of four sessions (10–20 minutes/session, 2–3 times per week) incorporating modules for bilateral coordination, reaching, gripping, balance, and cognitive–motor dual tasks. Motor function was assessed using the WMFT, and serum BDNF levels were measured pre- and post-intervention using ELISA. Results showed that BDNF levels in the control group remained unchanged (1.24 ng/mL), while the VR group demonstrated a significant increase from 1.45 to 1.54 ng/mL (p < 0.0001). WMFT scores improved in both groups, but the improvement was greater in the VR group (38 ± 0.39 to 42 ± 0.39; p < 0.0001). These findings indicate that VR-based motor training effectively enhances serum BDNF levels and motor function in stroke patients. Further studies with larger samples, more intensive interventions, and long-term follow-up are recommended.

Keywords: Virtual Reality, BDNF, Neuroplastisitas, Motor Function, Stroke

Mariel Daba Nathasya Ferdyastari Luh Ade Lela ##submission.copyrightStatement## 2026-01-05 2026-01-05 16 2 95 105 10.32695/jkt.v16i2.713
