Abstract

Utilizing household organic waste into compost is an alternative to processing organic waste originating from household activities, especially for people who live in the littoral. One of the villages in the littoral is Waitomu Negeri Hila Village, Leihitu District, Central Maluku Regency. So it is necessary to provide outreach to the public about processing organic waste, making compost, and a simple composter. So that people do not use the sea as a final waste dump. The results of this composter introduction activity show that the community has become skilled and has succeeded in making compost and liquid fertilizer. The resulting compost and liquid fertilizer have been applied by the residents of Waitomu, Hila Village, Leihitu District, Central Maluku Regency, and Hila State on plants around the house (vegetables/flowers). It is hoped that this service activity will open up market access for production products in the form of Liquid Compost and Solid Compost. It is expected that this service program can be continued in the following years in other locations to support environmental sustainability.
