Abstract

Family health is a fundamental pillar in the development of quality human resources, particularly among vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, infants, and toddlers. Promotive and preventive efforts through nutrition education are strategic approaches to enhance community awareness and knowledge in realizing healthy and prosperous families. This community service activity was conducted in Banda Subdistrict, Central Maluku Regency, targeting pregnant women and mothers of infants and toddlers. The primary aim of this program was to improve the participants' knowledge and understanding of balanced nutrition, the importance of macro and micronutrient intake during pregnancy and early childhood, as well as the implementation of healthy eating practices in daily life. The methods used included interactive counseling sessions, group discussions, healthy food preparation demonstrations, and distribution of educational media. The results showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge about balanced nutrition principles and a positive change in attitudes toward selecting and preparing nutritious meals for family members. Therefore, nutrition education proved to be an effective intervention in supporting efforts to improve family health, especially in island regions such as Banda Subdistrict. This program is expected to be sustainable and serve as a model for similar initiatives in other areas
