Abstract

Menopause is a natural phase in a woman's life, marked by the cessation of menstruation and hormonal changes that affect physical, psychological, and social well-being. In Nania Village, knowledge about menopause remains limited, especially among members of the religious Majelis Taklim community who face barriers to information and are influenced by cultural stigmas surrounding reproductive health. This community engagement program aimed to enhance women's understanding and preparedness for menopause through education, counseling, and the establishment of support groups. The activity took place at Nurul Jannah Mosque with 20 participants. Topics included menopause awareness, symptoms, impacts, and strategies for managing physical and mental health. Pre-test results showed only 45% of participants had adequate knowledge, which increased to 90% post-activity. Participants reported increased confidence, reduced anxiety, and motivation to adopt healthier lifestyles. The program also fostered open discussions on previously taboo topics, strengthened ties between the community and health professionals, and gained support from religious leaders. Community-based, culturally sensitive education on menopause proves to be an effective approach to improving women's quality of life during aging.
